I earned my Bachelor Degree in General Studies (Business Administration, Project Management, Psychology, Law, and Communications) through TRU OLA University, GPA 3.07. I am a Clinical Counsellor, and Masters Candidate with Athabasca University, Applied Psychology & Counselling. I am a professional member in good standing with Family Mediation Canada and Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
I have worked in a variety of sectors, including public accounting, personal finance, corporate sales, childcare, residential care (persons with disabilities and high risk youth), community research and development, property management, mediation, counselling, and coaching (skiing, volleyball, and cross-training).
My current focus is to work with small and medium sized corporations providing workshops to enhance workplace health to maximize profits through improving upon key performance indicators: employee moral, productivity, and absenteeism through interactive group forums and employment assistance program services. I have extensive experience facilitating diverse group processes within various contexts that brings depth and breadth to the table.
Counselling and mediation services are provided in flexible formats: a) face-to-face, b) corporate interactive workshops, and/or c) e-counselling through Skype, text, and/or email). Psychosocial education may be developed in response to need. Popular demands include 1:1 & group workshops on anger management, respectful relationships, communications, coparenting, team-building, and intercultural relations. I have worked with both voluntary and mandated clients, with persons who have conditions on access, and/or a court-ordered healing plan.
Professional Services & Counseling Model/Approach:
Brief-intervention solution-based counseling and mediation services, utilizing a multi-faceted, cultural-specifc, holistic (mind, body, spirit), and collaborative approach. Clinical counseling practice resources options are: cognitive-behavioral congruence, mindfulness, assertive communications, respectful relationships, anger/stress management, and workshops/homework. Counseling and mediation approach is based on a coaching model that is strength-based and forward-thinking to achieve dreams, goals, and outcomes. With mandated clients, I adopt the restorative justice model. Resolution of conflicts is collaborative and interest-based with the goal to strengthen family, professional, and personal relationships.
